I did not know that women used to be able to bless other women, even by faith, before reading this letter. I think that is a super powerful and interesting practice and wonder if it could ever come back. Reading Wilford's letter and comparing that to Joseph's ideas is super interesting in seeing how the importance of ordinances was way more emphasized over time. I do wonder how much priesthood authority should play a role in administering to the sick and other blessings. I think it would be super powerful to have women administer blessings.
