I did not really know about the extent to which polygamous families were impacted by the Edmunds-Tucker Act. It is absolutely wild to see how a woman and her baby were locked up for refusing to testify against her husband. I felt the background article did a great job setting up important context for me to understand her journal entries. Some of the journal entries were pretty gut wrenching, especially the ones about seeing her baby behind bars, playing in the prison.
