05 - Book of Mormon Translation

password: braveheart

In D&C 3 & 5 we learn about the experience Martin Harris and Joseph Smith had as Joseph was translating the Book of Mormon. D&C 3 is the first revelation for which the original text has survived; most others we have are copies. Harris's experience of demanding to see the manuscript is contrasted somewhat with a man that Elder Holland discusses, who cries out "Lord, I believe. Help thou mine unbelief.” Holland admonishes us to lead with our faith, not our doubt. That we need not lie about our faith but, that it should not be discounted.
